Checking In…

What’s up my peoples!  Sending this out to the X number of subscribers this blog has, it’s been quite a while since I posted but I’ve made some major changes and wanted to share.  I’m still prepping but the whole Covid thing (whatever it was, or wasn’t) really forced me to step back and take an evaluation of my life.  I’ll relay this in bullet point format.

  1.  Covid.  I took the politically correct stance on here and admittedly, in the beginning none of us knew what this thing was.  I too was super super cautious and even posted about it.  Yet behind the scenes I trained brazilian jiu-jitsu the entire time, rolling around on the mats with strangers and keeping the sword sharp.  I didn’t die, imagine that.  We stayed cautious but as the months wore on I became increasingly suspicious which (sometime last early fall) morphed into…well make your own assumption.
  2. Around the same time last year I stopped watching the news, stopped checking the news on my phone, stopped giving a shit.  Literally.  To this day I still do not watch the news, don’t have any links on my phone, I literally have no idea what is going on outside of my own world / bubble and it feels fantastic.  As you all know I’m not on any form of social media and it is liberating.  People sometimes ask me “have you heard about?” and I’m like: I have no idea what you are talking about and frankly, I don’t care.
  3. I bought a motorcycle, I take long trips and I enjoy life.  I’ve owned, raced and enjoyed bikes over multiple decades but took time off because I got busy.  Yea, whatever.  I now dedicate quite a bit of time to riding and enjoying the country via 2 wheels again.
  4. My wife quit her job, we don’t have many bills to speak of and we are enjoying life in a simple manner.  Going on hikes, paddle boarding, whatever it is.  The grind can kiss my ass, I’m over it.

To summarize I think the whole covid thing was good for us.  Many people reacted a certain way and initially we were caught up in it.  Yet, I sort of morphed and adjusted fire and stopped giving a shit.  I’m going to do what’s right for me and my family and the rest is whatever.  If something goes on in the next county, state, country or whatever  it is of no consequence to me.  I don’t care who is president, I actually couldn’t even name who my state senators or reps are.   I mailed in my ballot with and taped a picture of my dog in for my vote for president.   I don’t watch or care about the news.  The feeling totally and completely liberating.

Do you my friends because I will certainly be doing me.  The white noise can kiss my ass.  Cheers.

  1. Hey Hey!!! You just said what a lot of people are thinking!! My husband and I actually embraced this “virus”. We just did “we”. It really made people sit up and take a look at the way they were living…we were pretty much already there, we live a simple life and covid didn’t affect us much. We enjoy being by ourselves and hiking and fossil hunting and gardening, didn’t change much for us.. Take care

Awesome! It’s so good to see a post from you. I hope you weren’t too badly affected in the fires last summer/fall.
I spent Covid training hard, passed my firearms instructor quals and just bought 70 acres in a friendly county and I’m building a private gun club. Couldn’t be happier.

    Good to hear from you!

I took a similar path to yours and checked out of the BS machine as much as possible. It is quite liberating and refreshing.

On a down note, though, I have had some personal SHTF stuff going on and am muddling through it as well as possible.

Glad to see you here, again.
