GuestIf it was me I have a couple local gunsmiths I’d check with.

Guestthanks, haven’t had much luck with them. I have even looked into buying another gun, if possible, for parts, and haven’t had any luck finding another like it.

GuestHave you tried contacting savage? If they don’t have the parts, maybe they can refer a gunsmith or shop in your area.

Guestyea, this model was discontinued in the mid 40’s, didn’t have much luck there. I got one guy that’s supposed to call me back next week to see if he has parts I need. I e contacted about 20 different sources so far with no luck.

GuestWow. In a quick Internet search I did see some for sale. Probably newer models. This might become a nice over the mantle piece.
Looks like a nice shotgun. I have a bolt 410 winchester that was grandpas that is very similar, nice gun.

Guestthe only ones I saw for sale so far were old auctions that have already been closed. I need a new bolt for mine, as the extractor clamp is missing on the current bolt I have. as I said earlier, it was my first gun and I want to keep it functional for sentimental reasons. I occaisional take it squirrel or rabbit hunting, it’s a great small game gun.

GuestI wonder if a machine shop could fabricate one, if you have the old piece.

Guestthat’s the bad part, I took it out and noticed they were missing. I checked the gun cabinet and all around it but had no luck finding the missing pieces. I will keep calling around and looking. eventually, you do find the needle in the haystack

GuestFYI – I found the parts I need for my shotgun. The gentleman I spoke with was very professional and to the point, located the parts and verified them for me and the entire call lasted less than 10 minutes. I was very pleased with this guy and and am recommending him to anyone looking for gun parts like I was. His site says he has been in business since 1967; if that’s true, he must be doing something right.
I will provide his site if anyone would like it..

GuestThat’s so cool. Was looking bleak for your shotgun there for a bit. What’s his site?

GuestYea, was beginning to think that way, myself. I was afraid it was going to take me months of searching likme when I had to replace the stock.
