Prep Updates 09/05/12

In today’s update I am including quite a few links related to the present situation in Europe.  It’s very important to understand that what happens in Europe has a direct impact on the US and the rest of the world.  Europe’s problems related to their debt and attempts at austerity could be seen as a foreshadowing of events which could happen here in the US if we continue down this same path that we are currently on.

Prepper Deals out on the internet:

Ready Made Resources has the Water Bob in stock, this is a good item for apartment preppers with limited storage room.  Fill it up prior to an emergency and possibly include a few drops of bleach to keep the funk away.  Now you have up to 100 gallons of drinking water ready to go.

The Prep Room has an emergency kit for our 4 legged friends, I think I might pick up a couple of these myself.

I recently picked up a bunch of AR15 magazines from 44Mag.com, super quick shipping and great pricing as well. Considering one never knows what could take place after the elections it might be a good idea to have a few extra mags on hand.

Bracken: When The Music Stops – How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence

It’s estimated that the average American home has less than two weeks of food on hand. In poor minority areas, it may be much less. What if a cascading economic crisis, even a temporary one, leads to millions of EBT (electronic benefit transfer) cards flashing nothing but zeroes? Or if the government’s refusal to reimburse them causes supermarket chains to stop accepting them for payment? The government can order the supermarkets to honor the cards, but history’s verdict is clear: If suppliers are paid only with worthless scrip or blinking digits, the food will stop.
