I thought I’d follow up on the heels of my PFA post with yesterday’s workout, for anyone who might be interested in giving it a shot. It’s a take on one of the Hero Workouts, definitely check those out if you are keen on pushing the limits of your physical strength and endurance.
The first thing you need to do is find a local high school track which will allow you to utilize their facilities. After warming up the workout goes like this:
-20 pushups
-20 situps
-800 meters (2 laps) running forward
-400 meters (1 lap) running backwards
That’s one set, the entire workout is 5 sets. Only stop to take a quick drink of water when necessary. Once complete I did ten 60 yard sprints to cool down. These are great sprints because they allow you to speed up and slow down with plenty of room to spare. The first 20 yards you gradually speed up, the middle 20 is full speed, and the last 20 is used to slow down. Of course a nice stretching session was done once complete.
This workout is one of those long, grinding type of workouts where you are constantly in motion for 40 to 50 minutes. While not as high impact or intense as a 15 minute Xfit session you know that you have done something tough when you are finished. Good luck and remember, never quit!

Prepper Deals out on the Internet:
Thanks to Jeanette who sent over a recommendation. She mentions that Polly’s Birth Book is a world renown, highly sought after, only how to manual of its kind. Lots of illustrations for the layman’s eyes. Check it out on Amazon.
Todd sent over a link to Applied Innovative Technologies (AIT). They are a manufacturer and distributor of flashlights and other merchandise that is designed to operate maintenance free for years or decades (depending on which product is selected). Check out their website for more information.
Current events and opinion:
Sequestration, Like the Debt Ceiling, Is a Weapon of Mass Destruction
PJ: We are mere weeks away from hearing a plan which details how this will be kicked down the road. After all why do today what you can put off until next year?
Why The Banking Elite Want Riots In America
PJ: Pretty decent article, I can see the dependents of our society rioting once they are cut off. So many people live day to day and hand to mouth, once their source is compromised you had better believe they won’t sit around and wait patiently for something to happen.
Cuts loom for nearly all USDA programs
PJ: The most telling part of the article: U.S. debt will continue rising over the next ten years even as the economy recovers and unemployment falls, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). In the annual forecast the CBO says the debt will be equal to 77 percent of GDP by 2023, compared to the 40-year average of 39 percent. The amount of money the government has to pay for interest alone on the national debt will more than double over the next decade.
65.4 Million Gun Purchases Since Obama Took Office, 91% More Than Bush’s First-Term Total
PJ: Remember people said: “Yes, but this is pure speculation! He hasn’t done anything to infringe upon your gun rights since being in office!” My how things have changed since the re-election.
Fugitive ex-cop believed dead, as cabin stronghold goes up in flames
PJ: He wanted to clear his name, not really the best way to go about things. Proof that it is simply impossible to stop crazy people from doing crazy things.
Food Stamp Rolls in America Now Surpass the Population of Spain
PJ: How’s that economic recovery?
Gun Control Is For Our Own Good!
PJ: I like the poster in the article that says a police state is a safe state. Reminds me of 1984.
